| TO THE INFORMAL CAREGIVERS

The Info.Cuidador Project, from the Humanitarian Center of Tavira, of the Portuguese Red Cross, is a project to support informal caregivers in the four counties covered by the Humanitarian Center of Tavira, namely: Tavira, Castro Marim, Alcoutim and Vila Real de Santo António.

 

The main goal of this project is to promote the reduction of the informal caregiver's overload and/or to increase his/her quality of life and well-being through the support and counselling provided, by means of the New Information and Communication Technologies, i.e. just a click away! Specifically, the project is based on the implementation of an online service, with recourse to video calls, through a tablet, which will be in the possession of the caregiver. The person being cared for will have a smartwatch, which will allow the person to be monitored. The monitoring and counseling are provided to the caregiver by a multidisciplinary team, consisting of: Nurse, Psychologist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Nutritionist and Social Worker.
